Chocolate to Chocolate
Ax has had 5 chocolate gelatos in 4 days. He says he only wants chocolate because he’s doing a scientific comparison and needs a flavor constant. He also really likes chocolate. And he is disciplined, committed to his research.
I like to try different things. I’ve had hazelnut, lemon, and pistachio. They were all tasty, in their own ways. Ax says he has not had a “bad” gelato, but one so far has stood out — not the one from the long line quasi-hipster Gelateria by the Duomo in Florence, but the one from the ultra-touristy, no seats, “American Snack Bar” near St. Mark’s in Venice. What made that one stand out? “Overall tastiness,” he says. Who knows what today’s experiment will bring? I’m gonna keep going.
