Ladies’ Night/What’s in a Name?

So I got three kittens and now we are five ladies (including Brownie) hanging at home while the menfolk are road-tripping.

The kittens have many names, none sticking just yet. The black one has been Drishti, Magic, Faith, Jasmine, Princess, Night, and Black. She is the most clingy and meow-y, also the smallest.  Oddly, she is fondest of Brownie but also most likely to hiss at her when Brownie sniffs back. Perhaps Black will be Princess Meow Meow.

Tabby has been Hope, Birdy (Ax says she flies like a bird, I haven’t witnessed this). Also  Belle, Bella, Dawn, Satya, Flower, and Jennifer.

Grey is probably going to be Grey. Though she has been Dusk, Dharma, Truth, Shadow, and Misty.  Ax has a strong preference for “Misty” for Grey. That said, he knows I’m still hurting from when I let him name  Brownie, who I felt strongly was more of a Juliet.

So it’s very busy here at the cathouse now. There’s litter boxes to clean, kittens to snuggle, a dog to reassure and integrate, many mouths to feed. Right now our work and play and cleaning is done. It’s my favorite time of day, bedtime — time to all curl up together for a chill ladies’ night. I’m gonna keep going.
